It’s that time of year again when we are excitedly getting ready to launch our new season SS18 collection! The long, dark days are on their way out and longer, brighter days are making their return. Our new season ss18 collection includes the perfect pieces for these warmer, happier days.
As with our previous collections our Dancing Days range draws inspiration from vintage days gone by. Our new season shoe collection includes the sweetest kitten heels, sandals and ballet pumps.
So, you’ve decided on your favourite, new season shoes but how about your handbag? During the 1940’s, bags and purses had established themselves as an accessory essential and even more so during the fifties! Did you know that conventions were held to demonstrate how each style of bag should be held towards the body?!
A recovering economy after WWII meant that households were expected to portray an image of comfortable expenditure and happy home lives. Many handbags had the logo of the relevant fashion house displayed on the front which were often used as a display of social standing.
Many women were encouraged to stay at home and look after the household and children whilst the men went out to work. They were also expected to convey a perfect, polished appearance. This included her hair, nails and of course a statement handbag.
The role of women in today’s society has come a long way and they are stronger and more independent then ever before. However, one thing has certainly not changed, the need for a fabulous bag!
Our new season handbags, from our Dancing Days collection, are ideal for adding some vintage glamour to your outfit day or night!
Above is just a little handful of our new bags. We can’t wait to show you the rest!
